This week marked Operation Safe Stop Day (April 27), an annual event to promote school bus safety and educate the public about the dangers of illegally passing a stopped school bus when its red lights are flashing.
New York State requires all vehicles to come to a full stop when approaching a school bus when it is stopped with its red lights flashing. These lights indicate that a child is either boarding or disembarking a school bus.
It is illegal to pass regardless of your direction of travel, even if there is a multi-lane or divided highway.
Keeping children safe when they take a school bus to and from school each day is our top priority and we urge drivers to do their part to keep our students safe!
Seniors who have made their post-secondary college decisions are invited to wear their college gear and faculty and staff are invited to wear their alma mater gear to celebrate National College Decision Day on Monday, May 1!

Decision Day is held on or around May 1 every year -- the day most colleges and universities ask that students notify them of their plans to enroll (and pay an admission deposit) for the fall semester.
The modified baseball and softball games scheduled for TOMORROW (Saturday, April 29) have been POSTPONED due to the weather. The rescheduled game date has not yet been set.
