Mr. Marks did a walkthrough with some of our Board of Ed and new Principal, Donna Marsh. It's amazing how our maintenance and custodial pull it all together after summer cleaning and maintenance! Student worker Dakota and night Custodian Michael Smith are hard at work! Thank you!

The Admin Team, MCS Teachers, Board President Doris Warner, and Superintendent Osterhoudt spent the last couple of days in Ithaca NY attending a Diversity Thought Symposium hosted by the New York State Council of School Superintendents. Thought leaders across the country came together to discuss instruction, restorative practices, and how to take care of ourselves, our students, and make better use of our time. We already know we are a diverse learning community, so a key takeaway is that Margaretville students NEED to have access to the best learning opportunities because they DESERVE it!

Superintendent Osterhoudt had the honor of representing Margaretville Central School! She was asked to provide expert testimony at the Rockefeller Institute Public Hearing on Foundation Aid at Laurens Central school Thursday afternoon. Superintendent Osterhoudt and her colleagues from the region all advocated for rural schools! Rural schools deserve all the opportunities and the appropriate funding to create those opportunities. Superintendent Osterhoudt also bumped into a former Margaretville grad, Genesis, who was working security at the event!

Mr. Marks, Building Administrator for Operations and Student Activities, mops up a wet spot from a leak from the heavy rains. Mr. Marks can always be counted on to take care of our beloved MCS. He, along with some seriously dedicated staff, make us proud. Before Superintendent Osterhoudt left for the day, she checked in with him and found him making the rounds, making sure the building was ok. #MCSPRIDE

Breaking News! Superintendent Osterhoudt was surprised by a sleuth of bears who showed up in her office this afternoon! They were presumably in search of honey. Fortunately for Mrs. Osterhoudt, the bears were friendly and went along their way!
