Important communication from the New York State Police.
THREAT UPDATE
Several UNFOUNDED threats continue to circulate over social media. Law Enforcement have confirmed that they have been circulating for several days at over 100 schools and that there is no immediate threat.
I understand people's concern if they're seeing it for the first time.
The most recent UNFOUNDED threat circulating with regard to school drills is NOT NEW but it keeps being shared via social media adding to the confusion and leading to unnecessary fear.
Additionally, Law Enforcement want this message to be heard: See Something, Say Something.
The State Police were at MCS last night and did confirm that these threats are UNFOUNDED.
A charter bus full of MCS Music Theater & Production students and staff as well as members of @thedcspa & @mvillearts summer programming were treated to an incredible opportunity to see the Invited Dress rehearsal of "Our Town" on Broadway.
Students were treated to dinner at the iconic Carmine's, enjoyed a walk through times square, and then experienced an unforgettable performance of Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer-Prize-winning play, "Our Town."
The star-studded cast, directed by Kenny Leon and including Jim Parsons, gave their final dress-rehearsal before opening night to a packed house of invited guests. The story, set in a small town, highlights mortality and appreciating life.
The response from the students has been overwhelmingly positive; many students expressed being deeply affected by the messages of the performance, as well as engaging more fully in live theater performance than they had previously.
We cannot thank Garth Kravits & Julia Rugg enough for creating this unforgettable opportunity for our students through the Margaretville Arts Center and the Delaware County School of Performing Arts. The trip was one of so many of their efforts to continue the growth of thriving performing arts opportunities within our community.
MCS is thrilled and grateful!
