Margaretville Central School celebrated, thanked, and honored our community Veterans on Thursday, November 9th. Thanks to the planning and hard work of Carol Norwick, the MCS community came together in a moment of reflection, gratitude, and recognition for the those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
Principal Giardino led the event with Superintendent Osterhoudt and Board President Warner in attendance, followed by a meaningful keynote speech delivered by Assemblyman Chris Tague. Jeremy Marks introduced and honored each of our community Veterans with the help of many MCS students who are proud to call them family.
The ceremony also featured 13 students who volunteered their time after school each week to prepare a choral performance of the "Star Spangled Banner," the "Margaretville Alma Mater," and "Thank You, Soldiers." Additionally, The 30+ members of the elementary chorus performed singing, choreography, and lyrics they wrote to a partner-song with "This Land Is Your Land."
Veterans, thank you for your service, today and every day.
