We invite the entire MCS community to welcome our new Earth Science Teacher, Diane Jurgens.
This will be Ms. Jurgens' fifth year teaching Earth Science. Prior to receiving her Master's degree from LIU Post, Ms. Jurgens attended SUNY Geneseo where she graduated with a BA in Communications and Journalism. She has spent the last 4 years teaching Earth Science, Environmental Science, Meteorology, Forensics, Living Environment, and Climate Science to middle and high school students at several districts on Long Island, as well as teaching ENL to elementary and middle school-aged students in Vienna, Austria.
When she is not teaching, Ms. Jurgens enjoys the outdoors; hiking, paddle boarding, and playing beach volleyball. She is passionate about music and is a singer and guitarist, and she is an absolute fanatic for the NY Rangers and loves watching hockey.
Ms. Jurgens is excited to be relocating to the Catskills where she has spent many summers with her family and friends on the East Branch of the Delaware River. She is hoping her enthusiasm for Earth Science will make her students as excited to learn as she is to teach.
