Staff have been working hard to prepare for the upcoming school year, including attending Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools (TCIS) trainings. TCIS is a system that works to prevent and reduce the number of aggressive and critical events in a school through targeted training of staff in all areas. Staff learn how to support students to reduce stress and risk while also teaching them better ways to cope with stress. We have had two sets of multiple-day initial TCIS trainings and a one-day refresher conference this summer. Opportunities for staff to be trained will continue into the fall and next summer. TCIS content and strategies will also be folded into staff meetings and discussions throughout the upcoming school year.
